Good practices in the re-use of confiscated properties”


The European project “Creps: creating common areas – good practices in the re-use of confiscated properties” was funded by the Directorate General of Internal Affairs of the European Commission in the framework of the Programme “Prevention and fight against Crime”, FINEC call (Economic and Financial Crimes).
The main objective of this project is to raise awareness and deepen understanding of the role in the social re-use of confiscated assets could play in the prevention of organized and economic. The project also aims to increase the level of knowledge and capabilities of civil society organizations in this specific field through a pilot project which will involve the mapping of the confiscated properties and in the design of a potential project of social re-use of one of the buildings that will have been mapped.
WHY IS THIS ACTION/PROJECT A GOOD PRACTICE ONE?
The topics that will be addressed are critical at European level above all the seizure and confiscation of proceeds of crime in the European Union which introduced the theme of re-use in terms of social assets confiscated.
